Les Antiquaires received a perfect scores by Le Monde, it is the official Cognac of the ‘Meilleurs Ouvriers de France’ and the distillery only releases eaux de vies that are 40 years or older, never blended from sealed, never topped single barrels. Each bottle is sealed and trimmed by hand with an elaborately braided brute cord that holds the label in place. Each label is inspired by certificates of authenticity in thick, handmade cards handwritten by a calligrapher.
A light golden amber colour.
The intense, mostly fruity nose has candied fruit notes with citrus peel nuances that, over time, develop into quite mild spicy notes of ginger and nutmeg and very mellow woody notes characteristic of fine old woods.
The mouth deliciously recalls the nose, with a supple start that evolves into an ample structure. A beautiful woody presence joins chocolate and tobacco notes and a delicate mixture of camphor wood and dried vines.
