Les Antiquaires received a perfect scores by Le Monde, it is the official Cognac of the ‘Meilleurs Ouvriers de France’ and the distillery only releases eaux de vies that are 40 years or older, never blended from sealed, never topped single barrels. Each bottle is sealed and trimmed by hand with an elaborately braided brute cord that holds the label in place. Each label is inspired by certificates of authenticity in thick, handmade cards handwritten by a calligrapher.
A dark amber robe.
The elegant, disinguished, powerful nose rises slowly. The rise is exceptional, changing and varying, carrying a sublime complexity dominated by heavy maderization marked with the aromas of cigar boxes and light chocolate. It evolves slowly, leaving a palette of new aromas at each instant.
The mouth confirms the harmony of the nose and guarantees the long stay in the cask. This Grande Champagne will be magnificently rounded out, fill the mouth, put on a dazzling display and express all the pleasures that join forces to give it perfect fullness. Heavy rancidness and cooked muscat merge with the fineness of the flower of the vine and dried vines. What a radiant palette, what length.
