Les Antiquaires received a perfect scores by Le Monde, it is the official Cognac of the ‘Meilleurs Ouvriers de France’ and the distillery only releases eaux de vies that are 40 years or older, never blended from sealed, never topped single barrels. Each bottle is sealed and trimmed by hand with an elaborately braided brute cord that holds the label in place. Each label is inspired by certificates of authenticity in thick, handmade cards handwritten by a calligrapher.
A deep amber robe.
An extremely elegant nose, candied fruit and white flower (hawthorn) notes with a hint of moorland heather, forest undergrowth and humus. It develops slowly, gradually revealing spicier notes dominated by a hint of clove.
The mouth confirms the harmony and guarantees the long stay in the cask: a mellowness, a richness, an incredible density. A sweetness and rich, broad palettes of very mild, very present spices are achieved at the same time.
An amazing journey to the land of the senses.
