Ardbeg 10yr Islay Single Malt Scotch Whisky

    $59.99

    Size 750ML

Ardbeg Ten Years Old is a very special bottling for the Ardbeg distillery as it is the first non-chill filtered whisky in the Ardbeg range. Chill filtering isn't a bad thing, in fact it created real consistency of product when the whisky industry was a little more 'hap-hazard' than it is today. Ardbeg Ten Years Old is whisky with none of the goodness taken out and as good as straight from the cask. Who would believe that back in 1981, the distillery fell silent and was mothballed? Fortunately in 1997, to the delight of fans all over the world Glenmorangie plc rescued Ardbeg and a team of dedicated souls set about repairing and reviving the distillery (not to mention repainting it!). Now, once again Ardbeg flows freely. Learn More

Johnnie Walker Select Cask Rye Finish

    $65.94

    Size 750ML

Johnnie Walker Select Casks – Rye Cask Finish is a Scotch Whisky blend that showcases the best of Scottish blending and maturation expertise. With Cardhu single malt at the heart of the blend, Johnnie Walker’s Master Blender Jim Beveridge used whiskies matured for at least ten years in first-fill American Oak casks to create this blend.  He finished the Scotch in ex-rye whiskey casks, creating a complex new whisky with rich layers of flavor starting with creamy vanilla notes and transitioning to a spicier finish.

“From the early days when John Walker first blended whiskies in 1820 to the unique blends created today, Johnnie Walker has always thrived on experimentation. I believe that whisky is ever evolving and experimental in nature and I am pleased to present the first Rye Cask finished Blended Scotch Whisky” said Master Blender Jim Beveridge. “Johnnie Walker Select Casks is a unique style of Scotch that blends the flavor characteristics of bourbon and rye with some of the classic signature notes and smoothness of Johnnie Walker Scotch Whisky.

    $66.94

    Size 750ML

I was going to write something cheesy about cowboys, campfires, and whiskey but I figured you might be more interested in how CAMPFIRE WHISKEY™ came to be. One morning at the Bruichladdich distillery B&B, my wife and I smelled peat in the air - the great ladies that made our meals were simmering a bottle of peated whiskey and sugar! Later that night, they brought out dessert of ripe honeydew drizzled with the peated syrup. That was the most unusual, delicious and memorable ending to a dinner I’ve ever had. The combination of melon and sweet smoke really worked - so (naturally...) I thought why not mix sweet bourbon and peat? Worked for me! The main flavor (or melody) is sweet honey from a ripe bourbon. The enhancing flavor (or harmony) is floral fruity spice from a mature rye whiskey. The accent (Satchmo’s gravelly voice!) is the smoke from a peated scotch whisky. The proportions? Top secret. So...as the sun sinks low and the cold settles in, grab a bottle of CAMPFIRE WHISKEY™ and gather round a blazing fire to warm up, wind down your day, share stories, and deepen friendships. One taste of this sweet, spicy and, yes...smoky whiskey, you’ll know how it got its name. We like to enjoy CAMPFIRE WHISKEY™ with s’mores…or good-looking strangers. If you find yourself in Old Town Park City, you ought to come visit the High West Distillery and Saloon and get a taste of our Western hospitality and our crowd-pleasing victuals. 22. High West Bourye Whiskey

    High West Bourye Whiskey

    $88.99

    Size 750ML

It's back! Very similar to original Bourye in age profile and component whiskeys, we actually think this one is better. Unique and very premium blend of old and rich bourbon (9 years old) and rye (10 and 16 years old) whiskeys making for a premier sipping whiskey and one of our (High West) all time favorites.

    How to Enjoy:

Bourye® is best enjoyed around a campfire while looking at the milky way. Sip straight or with a little water. Not recommended with ice.

    The Name:

Bourye® is a combination of "Bou" for bourbon and "rye" for..well, rye whiskey. Because combining bourbon and rye is a bit unusual, we couldn't help thinking of the jackalope. Honestly, we didn’t think anyone would like the name!

    Back Label Story:

The jackalope, also called an antelabbit, is an antlered species of rabbit, a cross between a jack rabbit and an antelope with horns. It is rumored that pockets of jackalope populations continue to persist in the American West, its native home. In the old West, when cowboys would gather by their campfires to sing at night, jackalopes would frequently be heard singing back, mimicking the voices of the cowboys. When chased, the jackalope will use its vocal abilities to elude capture. For instance, when chased by people it will call out phrases such as, “There he goes, over there,” in order to throw pursuers off its track. Legend suggests the best way to catch a jackalope is to lure it with whiskey, as they have a particular fondness for this drink. Once intoxicated, the animal becomes slower and easier to hunt. That’s why High West created Bourye, our proprietary blend of Bourbon and Rye, both favorites of real cowboys and sure to attract even the most finicky of jackalopes. Please see highwest.com for specific details about the different whiskeys in this bottle - we like adjusting things every now and then according to our mood. Bourye is best enjoyed around a campfire while looking at the Milky Way. Important! Jackalopes will attack if cornered or provoked. To avoid injury, quickly fall to the ground, remain calm and still, while humming the Roy Rogers song, “Happy Trails to You.”

Handmade oak barrels, lightly toasted in the traditional manner, impart a wonderfully subtle flavor. In the 18th century, barrels were made by heating the staves over a fire of oak chips, allowing them to be bent and formed into a barrel shape. During this process, the inside of the barrel would become toasted, but not charred. For aging, several uncharred oak barrels, both new and used, to achieve the balanced complexity that complements this whiskey's traditional heritage. 51.2% ABV

Nose: The best description is "rotten sweet peat." Very strong peat smoke, sea brine, ocean breeze, with a hefty dose of overripe peaches and melons. Closes out with some wet oak / decaying wood and leather polish. (all these things are good, despite the references to rot / decay!!!)

Palate: It's even sweeter than last year's with a big dose of banana and pineapple. The smoke is omnipresent. It's medium bodied on the tongue with some nice thick oiliness.

Finish: All the intense outliers in the nose and palate come together beautifully in the finish. The smoke cancels out all the alcohol burn while the sweet fruits rise up off the tongue for a smooth and extremely well balanced finish. Classic Lagavulin!

    Size 750ML

LIMITED EDITION How to Enjoy: Yippee Ki-Yay™ is great as an aperitif on ice, neat with dessert, or on its own. Try it in a Manhattan. This stuff rocks. The Name: Where did “Yippee Ki-Yay” come from? Is it a real expression of joy popular with cowboys in the 19th century Western United States? Is it part of the greatest one liner in movie history? Was it influenced by the phrase ‘Yippie-yi-yo-ki-yay’ from the 1936 hit song “I’m an Old Cow Hand from the Rio Grande” about a 20th-century cowboy who has little in common with cowpunchers of old and sung by Bing Crosby in the film “Rhythm on the Range” (also sung later by Roy Rogers and Frank Sinatra) and considered one of the Top 100 Western songs of all time? We’re not sure. But we are sure we like how we feel when we say it... and recommend you use it every chance you get. Back Label Story: We confess...we didn’t coin the term “Yippee Ki-Yay”. Moreover, we didn’t paint the picture on the front label. It’s an historic poster (Gift of The Coe Foundation and Henry B. Balink) now at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody, Wyoming (centerofthewest.org, you really ought to visit). Furthermore, we didn’t distill the whiskeys in this bottle (it’s our Double Rye!® - sourced whiskey - see highwest.com for details). However, we did come up with a combination that we think will make you say...Yippee Ki-Yay drinkers of horrible tasting cheap flavored uisge beatha! One day, just for fun, we put Double Rye!® into oak barrels that had originally been used to age two different types of wine (see highwest.com for details) and discovered an all-natural, not disgustingly-sweet sipper for the rest of us.High West’s Yippee Ki-YayTM is great as an aperitif on ice, neat with dessert, on its own, or try it in a Manhattan. Ardbeg Perpetuum Single Malt Whisky

    $129.94

    Size 750ML

2015 marks Ardbeg’s 200th birthday, and for this momentous occasion the distillery has produced a special bottling: Ardbeg Perpetuum, an expression “inspired by the man styles, ideas and quirks of fate which have influenced Ardbeg recipes over time. It combines different styles, different flavours, different dreams and different trials, all skilfully married together in a melange of the very best Ardbeg has to offer.” That means Perpetuum is a recipe that includes some very old and very young stock, aged in both bourbon and sherry casks, “and some surprises which hint at the future.” What that means, we can’t say for sure, but here’s what the whisky tastes like. The color is moderate straw/light gold, hinting at youth. The nose cuts a familiar Ardbeg profile — sweetly smoky, like barbecue smoke, with a salty backbone. Don’t make any judgments yet, though. The body is something else entirely. Brine and seaweed hit the palate first, with less smoke than you’d think. Then comes a rich sweetness — honey, apricot jam, vanilla sugar, and some dark molasses on the back end. The finish has a sulfury edge to it, showcasing charred wood and dark chocolate, completing the tour of duty that takes this whisky from salt to sweet to bitter, all in one quick gulp. It’s incredible stuff that deserves a lot of time and even more introspection — and which stands as one of Ardbeg’s best releases to date. Learn More

  42. WhistlePig Old World Madeira Straight Rye Whiskey **SIGNED**

WhistlePig Old World Madeira Straight Rye Whiskey **SIGNED**

    $249.99

    Size 750ML

In the fall of 2012, Master Distiller Dave Pickerell began a unique experiment. After studying the time honored techniques of the Old World – particularly single malt Scotch whiskies – Dave and the WhistlePig team finished batches of 12-year-old Rye with premium Madeira casks. Produced since the 17th century on the Portuguese island of Madeira, this highly unique winemaking process includes oxidizing the wine at elevated temperatures for extended periods, replicating the primitive conditions of shipping the wine to the New World through the warm tropics. However, two blights in the 1900s eradicated more than 75% of the vines, making Madeira difficult to cultivate and procure today.

The rich caramel, fruit, and pepper notes of Madeira combine with Rye’s bold, spicy attributes yielding an elegant ultra-premium straight rye, distinctly American, but hearkening to its stately Old World roots.

Orphan Barrel Forged Oak 15yr Bourbon

    $299.94

    Size 750ML

A pillar of strength rooted in time and wisdom,
Forged Oak was found while foraging through the historic
Stitzel-Weller rickhouses. This Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey spent 15 contemplative years in charred American white oak barrels.

Forged Oak is a statuesque whiskey with aromas of cedar, maple and vanilla bean that give way to seasoned woody notes of cocoa and young berries, ultimately leading to a long, dry finish of black pepper.
