    $24.99

    Size 750ML

Brezza 2012 Langhe Nebbiolo. From the oldest estate in Barolo, still old school in style. From silt and sandy soils done in stainless steel and cement vats. Soft red fruits with mushroom in the nose with spice and raspberry as well. There is a lighter bodied frame with more of the present red cherry and a quite light body. D&M Tasting Notes The Brezza private estate, with vineyards in Barolo dating back to 1885, takes its name from Giacomo Brezza, who with his father Antonio bottled the first wine of the estate in 1910. The estate lies very close to the centre of Barolo, immersed in the vineyards, as is the nearby Hotel and Restaurant, also property of the Brezza family. The fourth generation of the Brezza family now manages the estate, which extends over twenty-two hectares, sixteen and a half of which are vineyards–twelve and a half in Barolo, one in the commune of Monforte, one in the commune of Novello, and two in Alba. The original part of the cellar, built in the traditional vaulted style, with exposed brick, was once the area where all cellar operations took place; it is now reserved for the maturation of wine in oak. - See more at: http://dandm.com/wine/italy/italy-red-northern-piedmont/brezza-2012-langhe-nebbiolo.html#sthash.EOlK0b3i.dpuf Learn More

More vineyards were later purchased and wine was sold in bulk. The Seghesio brothers started bottling their wine in 1990. The outstanding vineyards (Vigneto La Villa is one of the great crus of the Langhe) together with a perfect blend of traditional and modern vinification methods result in the production of lovely wines that have been greatly praised by the Italian and international press. Riccardo is now at the helm of the estate after Aldo suddenly passed away in 2010. Aldo's two sons, Sandro and Marco, and his daughter, Michela, are now working full time at the estate. Tasting note: The 2012 Seghesio Barolo opens up with pretty aromas of red fruits and strawberries followed by licorice, wet stones which all take shape in the glass. It possesses a beautiful silky, polished texture with gorgeous balance backed by juicy red fruits which turn dry and grip on the finish. Accessible now, bur should evolve nicely over the next decade. The meticulous care given to the vineyards together with a yield of less than 70 quintals per hectare, guarantees the highest level of quality. During its long ageing in Slavonian oak and in the bottle, the wine develops its characteristic flavours: tar (also known as ‘goudron’ in French), black cherry, dried herbs and spices that render the wine unique and famous. Colour: Intense garnet-red with lively orange highlights. Bouquet: A rich bouquet of licorice, dried flowers, ripe black cherries, earth and spice, with a balsamic note of mint-leaf in certain vintages. Taste: Full-bodied, warm and intense. Learn More
